Well attended Listening & Learning Workshops helping to answer “What’s next for Loudoun County?”

By November 28, 2016News

The initial Listening & Learning workshops were hosted around Loudoun County in November and gathered thousands comments from close to 500 participants. The Stakeholder Committee was impressed by the turnout and excited to hear the enthusiasm shared by attendees.

Each meeting began with a welcome from the Planning Team along with a brief background on key community conditions and trends. In tables of ten, groups spent the majority of the meeting sharing ideas on the “best opportunities to make Loudoun County an even better community in the future.” Groups voiced hundreds of comments spanning  widely varying categories. Themes addressing  transportation, housing, and parks and open space were commonly shared.

Meeting attendees turned out from across the county. This was indicated by a large wall map where participants were asked to place a blue sticker on their home and a red sticker on their work.

A full report on the first round of meetings will be published to the process webpage following the completion of round in December.

Two additional meetings have been scheduled for December on the following date and locations:

  • Monday, December 5, 7:00 to 8:30pm
    Woodgrove High School
  • Thursday, December 8, 7:00 to 8:30pm
    Cascades Senior Center, Sterling
