Listening & Learning Workshops to Kickoff in November

By October 27, 2016News

The Envision LOUDOUN Listening and Learning Workshops will kick off the county’s comprehensive planning process this November. The first of four initial workshops will occur on Monday, November 7th from 6:30 to 8pm, at the National Convention Center. Three additional workshops have been scheduled for the week of the 14th at the Washington Dulles Airport Marriot, the Clarion Inn Historic Leesburg, and the J Michael Lunsford Middle School. Additional meetings and locations will be scheduled for late November. The dates, times and locations will be posted to the project website,

Registration is not required, but in order to plan for the events the Planning Team is asking those planning to attend to fill out a brief RSVP form on the process webpage.

The Planning Team will present key information about the New Comprehensive Planning process, and attendees will work with each other in small groups; developing ideas for Loudoun through a map exercises and a roundtable discussion of the assets and opportunities facing the County.

The input received through the workshops will be a driving force of the New Comprehensive Plan.  The County is expecting to receive thousands of comments and ideas throughout the engagement process. These voices, values, experiences  and perspectives will help the team develop a plan the community can confidently stand behind and champion through implementation. The team will record, document, and store all input received during the community engagement process. This feedback will be compiled and analyzed in the formulation of a community vision for Loudoun County and used in the development of policies that can realize our vision for the future. The Planning Team will also come back to the community frequently to affirm what was heard and expand on key questions or topics.
